Re - The 'Shout' to the Wortley bin chute fire the other day, Where 12 pumps + 2 ALP's + CU were mobilised.
I bet the residents thought it was a scene from Towering Inferno when all the appliances pulled up!!
I remember the 'Shouts' to the flats on Manchester Road (Bradford) I think they had 15 floors? but the standard turn out was 4 pumps + 1 HP or TL, Usually Bfd & Odsal.
As an Avid regular on this site, I am sometimes 'Puzzled' why some incidents are attended by so many appliances, Or is it all just part of the Fire Service/National procedures laid down?
eg = A lone man in the water on Briggate Leeds = 4 pumps etc + ambulance + police officers?
20 firefighters + x amount of ambulance & police officers to rescue 1 man?
It never used to be as many as that.
Cheers.
Mark Elliot.
