Hello there, my name is Tim Ansell and i am currently the voluntary Brigade Photographer for the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. What i am after is any information or even better any images of an ex South Yorkshire Dennis F108 Water Ladder reg no- NWB415K. This was one of a batch of 5 or 6,but,was the only roller shuttered one out of the batch. They had side mounted pumps also.

Was talking to a retired officer recently and he said that the largest fire he ever attended from 1962 - 1988 was the Nelson St Bfd Mill fire a 40 pump blaze !!
Details on it are 'Sketchy' don't have any photos or other info on it.
I pressume it was at the bottom end (Bridge st) end where it was ?
I know of other more recent large Mill fires on and around Nelson st.
What a sight 40 pumps + 6 TL's must have been !!

I was looking fire appliance pictures on flickr and came across a colour one of DWY745H,a white HP.Details with the picture say it was a West Riding appliance,and the photo was taken in 1970 at Birkenshaw.Does anybody know anything about its history or which fire stations it operated from.Ihave checked all my W.Yorks fleetlists and cannot find it mebtioned.Graham.

Long time since i heard from you. Hope you are well.
The fire at Oakroyd Dyeing on Thornton Road was another incident which i attended.
This fire began as a turnout with one pump to a reported skip on fire. It verty quickly escalated to fifteen pumps and a large building fire. Red watch were there all night and also the following night.
