Smoke detection installed and working downstairs but none upstairs. Stanningley arranging to install new detectors in property and also carrying out hotsrike in the area.
Appliances from Stanningley (3101 3102) attended along with fire investigation officer and Red Cross Fire emergency support service.

The driver of the refuse truck was trapped following the collision with a bus on Knowsthorpe Lane, Cross Green.

Building Fire MP x 6 and Aerial Incident - Proved to be a fire in a 4 story empty building, numerous seats of fire were located on the ground floor, building was heavily smoke logged on the arrival of fire crews.Crews used 1 Large jet, 3 Hosereel jets, 10 Breathing apparatus and the Aerial appliance to extinguish the fires and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear building of smoke.

House Fire Persons reported - Proved to be a chip pan involved in fire, fire was out on the arrival of the fire service, crews used 2 Breathing apparatus and a Positive pressure ventilation fan to clear house of smoke. 1 male occupant suffered smoke inhalation, he was given oxygen therapy by Fire service personnel and then taken by ambulance to
Bradford Royal Infirmary. Smoke detectors were fitted and did actuate.

Smoke detectors were fitted and did actuate.

House Fire Persons Reported - Proved to be  the bathroom involved.  Crews used 1 Hosereel jet and 4 Breathing apparatus.  3 persons self rescued and 1 person rescued by a 105 ladder from 2nd floor window.  A neighbour assisted rescue of the 3 persons by laying down a mattress under the window to enable the 3 persons to jump out.  All 4 persons were transported to hospital by ambulance.  Fire survival guidance was given to 1 female in the flat  by a Fire Control Operator in Mobilising whilst further guidance was also given to a member of the public in the garden of the property, which was then relayed  to other occupants of the property who were stuck in the flat in another room. Smoke detectors were fitted and working in the property.

Leeds (2002) attended along with a specialist Fire Investigation Officer.
