Line Rescue Incident
- Report of man fallen down well, Line Rescue put into operation. Serious incident involving fatality. Police say they want to
hear from anyone who visited the castle or the area yesterday evening and saw
anything suspicious.
Appliances from Pontefract (9001),. Hunslet (2512
MRU), Cleckheaton (6201), Elland (6301), Rawdon (5001) and Castleford (8201)
and line rescue officers attended.
Westgate,
Road Traffic Collision - 3 cars involved with one casualty trapped, extricated
by Fire service using battery operated spreaders. Person released and Fire
crews assisted ambulance.

vehicle after hitting a tree and overturning, Both casualties extricated by
Fire Service. One fatality at this incident Police continuing enquiries.

and was taken by ambulance to Halifax Royal Infirmary.

Fire in Open - 1st Alarm make pumps 3. Proved
to be fire involving high voltage electrical cable on a bridge which is under
renovation. Scaffolding tower/bridge was also involved in fire.
Crews were protected the gas supply. The electrical fire affected the
electrical & gas supply to the Copley area. The Calderdale Emergency
Planner attended the incident to aid the evacuation of 11 people from barges
situated near the bridge. A Hazardous Materials officer also attended due
substances being given off from the burning cables. Fire finally extinguished
using 2Large jets Stop message at

children. Fire Emergency Support Vehicle was also requested.

adults escaped from a first floor bedroom window onto a porch roof and were
rescued by Firefighters. They were checked over by
Ambulance personnel but did not go to hospital.
