Crews used 4 Large jets, 3 Ground monitors and 12 Breathing apparatus. Smoke plume approx 2000ft given off.

Person Burnt - Proved to be a male casualty suffering 40% burns to his face after throwing fire into an oil drum which then flashed back.  He was taken to Calderdale Royal hospital by ambulance and was later taken transferred to Pinderfields hospital in Wakefield.

15/06/07 - URGENT INFORMATION

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service would like to make the public aware that resources are currently at full stretch due to a major fire in Thornton Road, Bradford, and widespread flooding across the county.

Between 9am and 10am the brigade’s Mobilising and Control Centre has received around 100 calls from the public due to damage caused to their property from flooding. Unfortunately the fire and rescue service is not in a position currently to pump water out of houses. Our advice is to turn electricity off and use sandbags.

We must stress, however, that the fire and rescue service will respond to any life-threatening situations quickly.
